On November 21st 2013, Howie Harshaw gave a PER Talk to the University of Alberta Faculty of Physical Education & Recreation. The lecture, Making Space for Outdoor Recreation Outside of Parks and Protected Areas: Finding places to connect to nature, focused on the benefits that outdoor recreation provides to individuals and society, and explored how these benefits could be realized in landscapes that support other values (such as natural resource development). Within this context, Howie discusses how spaces (and places for outdoor recreation can be maintained and supported. Check out the lecture below:
